Ardrossan ABCD Easter event an egg-cellent success
The family Easter eggstravaganza held by the ABCD project in Ardrossan was a huge success.
As s1ardrossan reported previously, the event, in Whitlees Community Centre, was run in partnership with the local community and helped raise awareness of local services.
The eggstravaganza included something fun for everyone, including games, arts and crafts, a giant inflatable slide, a raffle and much more.
Organisations represented included Ardrossan Youth Association, KA Leisure and many council and NHS services. A similar event was also held in Irvine.
Jennifer Stevenson, ABCD project leader, said: “We are very pleased that the local communities have really got on board with the project and taken ownership of it.”
The ABCD project works with people living and working in the Ardrossan central area. In the project, NHS Ayrshire and Arran works with the communities of Castlepark and central Ardrossan and organisations such as nurseries and community education.
The project works with the communities to help them improve the life chances of their children from birth to eight years of age.
Jennifer added: “The feedback we have received from these events is highly positive and everyone felt it was great fun for all the family. Both events helped raise awareness of the local services that we have.”
