Ardrossan's Butterfly Club wins community grant cash vote
29 NovemberGreat news! Thanks to your votes, the Butterfly Club, which is aiming to provide a holiday club for children and young people from James McFarlane school in Ardrossan has won a £6,000 grant in the RBS CommunityForce awards!
The club is a parent/carer led charity which aims to raise funds to provide a holiday club for children & young people with severe, complex and profound learning disabilities from James McFarlane (Ardrossan) and Haysholm School (Irvine) special needs schools.
The group applied for an RBS CommunityForce Award, and have now won one of the Ayrshire area grants of £6,000.
The grant will go towards the between £65-70000 needed to run a six week holiday club for summer 2012. The weekly wage bill for holiday club 2012, is estimated at £6510, and estimated training costs for staff are £6142, to give some examples.
