Blaze at Ardrossan wind turbine as storms hit local area

A wind turbine on the hills above Ardrossan has caught fire, as strong winds hit the town in Scotland's worst storms for over a decade.

Stuart McMahon captured this dramatic picture of the blaze in one of the turbines at the wind farm.

As a result of the fire, the B780 in Ardrossan was closed between Chapelhill roundabout and Munnoch reservoir.
