Countdown on to Ardrossan Highland Games

  • Traditional dancing will be a part of the 2010 Ardrossan Highland Games on Sunday 13th June
  • Traditional heavy events will be a highlight of the games


Organisers are hoping for great weather for the Ardrossan Highland Games, which is being held on Sunday 13th June at its usual venue - the Ardrossan Academicals grounds on the border of Saltcoats.

Last year's games enjoyed glorious weather - and some more of the same would be welcome for this year's dancing, pipe band competitions, and the traditional heavy events.

The 2010 Games Chieftain will be Cecilia Templeton, who has lived in Stevenston for many years but is originally from Saltcoats.

She is well known throughout the Three Towns as she has been a school nurse in the area for the last 17 years. She began her nurse training in the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow in 1962 and retired from school nursing last year.
