Vital win for Ardrossan as Musselburgh are frozen out

  • Ardrossan Accies beat the freeze to overcome Musselburgh 28-24
Ardrossan Accies scored a vital win to pull them clear of the Premiership Three relegation zone, as they overcame Musselburgh 28-24 in the only match to beat the weather.

Two Brian Walls penalties gave the visitors an early lead before tries by Alan Wilson and Robert Hunter with Wilson converting one and adding a penalty to Andy Duncan's three pointer gave Ardrossan an 18-6 lead. A late Walls penalty saw Musselburgh go in a half time nine points adrift.

However, in the second half tries from Greig Leitch and Andy Cook pulled the visitors ahead until Ardrossan skipper Kenny Blair burst over forth winning try with two minutes to go. Wilson's conversion ensuring that the Memorial Field men move up to the top half of the table.
